‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Teaser Trailer Released

New dragons fight? I'm all in.

HBO Max has released the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season of ‘House of the Dragon’, the hit fantasy drama series set in the world of ‘Game of Thrones’.

The 1-minute teaser doesn’t reveal much in terms of footage from the new season but builds hype with dramatic music, and flashes of imagery. We get glimpses of returning characters like Prince Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), along with an ominous shot of dragon shadows passing over King’s Landing.

‘House of the Dragon’ premiered earlier this year to both critical and fan acclaim, quickly becoming HBO’s most-watched new original series in history. The first season chronicled the peak and initial fall of House Targaryen, events that took place 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’.

Season 2 looks to depict the Targaryen civil war known as the “Dance of the Dragons”, a bloody and epic conflict over the iron throne. With the realm divided following the death of King Viserys, Princess Rhaenyra, and Queen Alicent vie for power and influence.

The teaser trailer builds anticipation for this civil war, promising high stakes drama on an epic fantasy canvas involving fire-breathing dragons. Filming is currently underway on the 10-episode second season, which is slated to release in Summer 2024 exclusively on HBO Max.
