During the lockdown period, due to the coronavirus spread out, many media houses have started taking precautions and delays in shoots and editing, postponing the release date of many movies we were waiting to watch.
Here are some of the movies and their updated dates:
1. A Quiet Place Part II
Sequel to a Quiet Place (2018) written and directed by John Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe.
This movie revolves around the Abbott family, who now has to face the terrors of the world outside as they fight for survival in silence.
Initially, this film was to be released in late March 2020 but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and is rescheduled to September 4, 2020.
2. Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway
Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is an upcoming American animated comedy film, a sequel of 2018 Peter Rabbit created by Beatrix Potter, directed by Will Gluck and written by Patrick Burleigh and Gluck.
It revolves around Peter, who can’t seem to shake off his reputation as mischief among the other rabbits.
This movie’s release date was changed from April 3, 2020, and is currently scheduled to be released in the United States on January 15, 2021, by Sony Pictures Releasing under its Columbia Pictures label.
3. Fast And Furious 9
F9, an upcoming American action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Daniel Casey.
Based on Dominic Toretto and his crew, who join forces to battle the most skilled assassins they’ve ever encountered.
It was originally scheduled for a 2020 release, the film’s general release has been rescheduled to April 2, 2021, due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.
4. No Time To Die
Recruited to rescue a kidnapped scientist, the spy James Bond finds himself hot on the trail of a mysterious villain, who’s armed with dangerous new technology.
It is the twenty-fifth installment in the James Bond film series produced by Eon Productions. Its release date has been changed to November 2020.
5. The Lovebirds
On the brink of breaking up, a couple gets unintentionally involved in a bizarre murder mystery. As they get closer to clearing their names and solving the case, they need to figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive.
This is an upcoming 2020 American romantic comedy film, directed by Michael Showalter, from a screenplay by Aaron Abrams and Brendan Gall, from a story by Abrams, Gall, and Martin Gero. Its original release date was on April 24, 2020, but Paramount postponed it, and Netflix then acquired the film from Paramount and will release it on May 22, 2020.
6. Mulan
To save her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army, a fearless young woman disguises herself as a man to battle northern invaders in China.
Mulan is a 2020 American action drama film directed by Niki Caro, with the screenplay by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Lauren Hynek, and Elizabeth Martin, produced by Walt Disney Pictures, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It was scheduled to be released in the United States on March 27, 2020, but was delayed to July 24, 2020.
7. The New Mutants
The New Mutants is an upcoming American horror film in the superhero genre, based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name and distributed by 20th Century Studios. It has had several release dates since it was first announced, and was most recently scheduled for release in the United States on April 3, 2020. Disney removed the film from its schedule in March 2020 and rescheduled it for a later date.
This movie revolves around Magik, Wolfsbane, and other teenage mutants who try to come to grips with their superpowers while staying at a secret facility.
8. Black Widow
Black Widow is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It’s original release date ( from May 2020) was shifted to November 6, 2020.
In this movie, Natasha Romanoff finds herself alone and forced to confront a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Romanoff must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
9. Mission Impossible 7 & 8
It is an upcoming American action spy film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring Tom Cruise, who acts as Ethan Hunt. It is the seventh installment of the Mission Impossible film series.
Impossible 7 is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2021, by Paramount Pictures. And impossible 8, also directed by McQuarrie, will be released on November 4, 2022.
10. Jurassic World: Dominion
Jurassic World: Dominion is an upcoming American science fiction adventure film directed by Colin Trevorrow. A sequel to the 2018 film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it is the sixth film in the Jurassic Park franchise and the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy.
There was a pause in its production, and now the release date is scheduled for June 11, 2021.

11. The Batman
The Batman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics, produced by DC Films and distributed by Warner Bros.
The production has been suspended, and the release date is on October 1, 2021.

Cinderella is an upcoming American romantic musical comedy film directed by Kay Cannon based on the same fairy tale.
Filming was suspended on March 16, and now its release date is on February 5, 2021.
13. The Matrix 4
It is an upcoming American science fiction action film and the fourth installment in The Matrix franchise. The film is co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski.
In March 2020, production on the film was halted, and is scheduled to be released on May 21, 2021.
14. Minions The Rise of Gru
MINIONS: The rise of Gru is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination, directed again by Kyle Balda, with Brad Ableson and Jonathan del Val as co-directors, and written by Brian Lynch.
The movie is about Gru and the Minions, who will turn to an unlikely source for guidance, Wild Knuckles himself, and discover that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.
The Rise of Gru was originally scheduled to be released in the United States on July 3, 2020, But on March 19, 2020, Illumination announced the film had been delayed.
And then they announced that the film was rescheduled for July 2, 2021.
15. Wonder Woman 1984
It is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman. It is the sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman.
The film is directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham. The movie is about Wonder Woman, who squares off against the Cheetah, a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility.
It was originally announced for release in December and November 2019, then scheduled for June 2020.
In March 2020, due to the virus, it was rescheduled for August 14, 2020.
16. Sing 2
Sing 2, from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures, is moving its release date back from December 25, 2020, to July 2, 2021.
17. John Wick: Chapter 4
Baba Yaga’s movie is also getting delayed due to COVID19. The fourth movie of the highly grossing John Wick franchise also got delayed due to the pandemic. Keanu Reeves is returning as John Wick in the fourth movie as well. The movie has been delayed by a full year. The new release date is May 27, 2022.
